  Had dinner here on a Monday Evening with my wife and parents. My wife and I were visiting from out of town and decided to give it a try since we had not been here before. It is in the old Gingerbread man on Scalp Ave. The atmosphere was great. Nice Decor and mood music playing that was loud enough to hear, but not so loud you couldn't carry on a conversation. The food came out in a very reasonable amount of time for a place that makes everything from scratch. I have been accused of being a bit of a foodie, and very much appreciated the effort this place puts into their recipes. Bruschetta was awesome! Whole roasted garlic cloves with a creamy butter sauce! My dad stated he could have made a meal off just that. Very authentic and very good. Everything from scratch! My mother had the eggplant parm, which she said was delicious and a very generous portion... she will be having that for lunch today as well. My dad had the meat lasagna and really enjoyed it as well. No leftovers for him. He said he was full, but had to finish it because it was so good. My wife had the Italian Cobb salad, which had the homemade house dressing. Salad was huge with lots of great ingredients. I had the antipasto salad, which had artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, and olives among other things. It also had great cured meats! It is bring your own alcohol so take a nice bottle of chianti if you like to have a glass with your dinner. Our waiter, George, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. This place is not olive garden or papa johns! If that is your idea of Italian you might be disappointed. It is an authentic Italian restaurant with great food. Much needed in Johnstown!
